Theatrical Design
Anthony S. Brooks is a much sought after free lance lighting and set designer. He is well known for his clean, crisp, and unique stage designs. While mostly self taught, Anthony studied at Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University for Scenic Design. He thoroughly enjoys the task of a complex stage or lighting design. Anthony has designed scenery at the Historic Apollo Civic Theatre for over a decade. While working with the A.C.T. Anthony has learned how to make the largest sets fit into the smallest of spaces and budgets! Many of his sets are multi-functional with several scenes on one set piece. By the time Anthony's designs come to paper, he has them figured out completely in his mind. Some of his scenic designs include "Jekyll & Hyde, the Musical," "Little Women, the Musical," "Once on this Island," "White Christmas," and "Grease." Attention to detail is another quality Anthony holds that can be missed by others. "Accuracy is key to designing" says Anthony. "You're creating another world on stage and the audience must buy into this idea. If you have the wrong time period or architecture in your design, you risk confusing the audience. The set should enhance the audiences experience as well as the actors. If the actors believe it's real, then your audience with believe so as well."

Theatrical Workshops
Anthony has taught workshops at the Apollo Civic Theatre, and the West Virginia State Thespian Competition. He uses power point along with hands on instruction for Lighting, Set, and/or Sound workshops. These workshops can be two hours or even two weeks depending on the depth of the workshop.
